I'm totally down with the support most of L.A's blogs have for the music coming out of here but c'mon give me a break, there are other bands, seriously is it all about the lovey pop shit??? what happend to the balls in music. there are a few really good bands in l.a. right now that dont get the attention they deserve.??!!! i gotta drop some names because it seems like their not playing enough shows. THE ICARUS LINE (who is actually going to have a new album out in the near future) , Night Horse, they already have a nice catalog out and are playing out a bit. Finally Jubilee is going to be playing more shows. get them 7" two eps before they run out. oh yea! Crooked Cowboy & The Freshwater Indians they were badass opening for Nebula a few months ago. oh yea! im not late but Jail Weddings have been doing some good things.
honestly Mission of Burma played at the echo a few nights ago & Henry Clay People opened?! what the fuck is that about?? dont they play the echo/echoplex / spaceland enough. these talent agents really need to get off their asses & book some shit that goes better then HCP.
thank the rock gods for bringing Them Crooked Vultures to L.A. for a couple nights. too bad im broke and couldnt afford to get tickets.
there are a few bands who if things work out the way they should will be playing/ hearing about more. Northern Sky, Repeater, Shiloe who is already getting a good buzz floating. and um i aint saying we da best but Atlantic Line is playing with a lot of these bands.
gotta give props to FYF & Buddyhead for the kick ass halloween show they did in eagle rock.
